he cultural development of the City of Frankfurt am Main is at all times characterised by the willingness of its population to sponsor.

Caused by the move of the off-off Theatre in Bornheim (TIB) to the Eastside of Frankfurt, which had developed from a German speaking stage into a multilanguage guest performance stage, and by the heavy cuts into the city’s budget for cultural activities citizens of Frankfurt founded 1995 the "Gesellschaft der Freunde Internationales Theater Frankfurt e.V." ("Society of Friends"). They wanted to accompany the then renamed theatre with advise and financial support and to make sure, that this cultural centre will be preserved to the expatriates citizens as their cultural home and to all other inhabitants within the Rhine-Main-Area as a cultural display window. For the time being the Society of Friends counts about 50 members.

By your membership

you show closeness to the International Theater;
you support the theatre financially and you enable it to bring outstanding guest performances to Frankfurt and to maintain the theatre's technical outfit;
you increase its image and you strengthen the bargaining power of the President of the Society of Friends vis-à-vis the city and other interest groupings in favour of the theatre;
you shall receive the theatre’s two-monthly program free of charge at your home;
you shall be invited to special occasions in case you are a supportive member.

The Members of the Committee of the Society of Friends recommends the following voluntary annual contribution:

Individual membership: 60,- Euro

Supportive membership: 160,- Euro

Cooperative membership: 500,- Euro
